Phu My dry port was formed from the need to optimize the transportation of export and import goods from the Ba Ria- Vung Tau Province area to neighboring economic corridors; become the logistics center of the seaport; Connecting with remote inland ports and seaports associated with goods distri- bution and consumption centers, road and waterway border gates to improve the efficiency of transport network connec tion, promote multimodal transport, Reduce transportation and logistics costs

According to the Development Plan of Vietnam’s Dry Port System for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, which is being submitted to the Government for approval, Phu My Dry Port has a throughput capacity of about 300,000 – 400,000 TEUs/year
